DAT NAVEL GALORE

so re-posting what i've said earlier on twitter; best thing about yumekui merry is that the anime adaptation were carried out by the same production team that gave us toradora, to aru kagaku no railgun and one of +ophanium's summer 2010 favorite; ookami-san to shichinin no nakamatachi. now, how can we tell this ? well it should be apparent from the character design, and the overall look of the visual execution of course; thus more the reason for us to be keeping our interest up and high into this series here, yes. also, it'll be interesting for us to see how the former director of kyou, koi wo hajimemasu would tackle this one out, seeing how we had come to fell in love with the direction seen in the aforementioned short anime.

yumekui merry -as with the other three winter series we've touched so far- went about on a good start, giving us such a pleasant impression that this one will as well be promising something that we find to be worthy enough of our attention and [ watching ] commitment; albeit several parts of the first episode were slightly jarring and mildly confusing to us; thus we were so hopefully that there will be plenty of adequate explanation be given away in the ensuing second episode. the basic of the plot / storytelling concept -for all that matter- pretty much sparked such high level of interest in both me and zange, seeing how it had us both swiftly reminded of the conceptually / thematically different yet mildly related series 'shinigami no ballad', in the instance we had our minds and sights set on yumekui merry.

so with excellent visual production value once seen in toradora, to aru kagaku no railgun and ookami-san to shichinin no nakamatachi, we can not expect any lesser from the series when it comes down to the visual / graphic presentation department. and despite many fans of the series were swiftly caught in the charm of the titular demonic heroine merry, i for one were instantly [ overly ] enamored by isana-chan's [ pictured below ] presence; mainly due to her personality and her hairstyle wise. that said as well i sincerely couldn't help but regard her as one of them wonderfully designed character for this winter. the background, for the best part of the visual execution department were rendered in much the same visually exquisite taste as toradora and ookami-san to shichinin no nakamatachi - to my greatest delight.

[ ISANA, MAI LOVELY WAIFU™ ]

the majority of the characters featured on the series were drop down likable, to us at the very least; including the main male lead himself who's fast being ridiculed and despised by those overly critical ones. and despite my major, and greatest interest to note on isana, the titular character merry for one is flooding with so much moe and charm that i find it next to impossible for me to completely disregard nor ignore her existence; especially ever since she had displayed a certain cute and emotionally captivating side of her in the recently aired second episode.

p/s : oh and btw just in case you haven't noticed yet, the highly acclaimed dojin ongaku circle iosys did both the OP and ED for yumekui merry. and yes, you can take your moment of awe now |3
