there isn't much you can expect from a typical eronime such as this save for a handful of the *cough* usual scenes which took almost 3/4 of the entire screentime, usually sparing less room for a proper story and character development to grow. a mild pity that the story from the original game is quite promising if it were to be adapted into a decent serial non-h run [ school days, shuffle ! etc etc ] rather than to only emphasize on the erotic nature of the game [ well i-i-i-it's not like i don't wanna see the erotic side of the game animated tho- ]. to sum it up, i've had [ really ] high hopes while in the middle of acquiring the three part ova. it turns out later, however that the series barely kept my interest into completing my watch over it v.v . anyways, it wasn't that bad either, only that i personally thought how it could've been better than the way it already is.
foremost, i am mildly disappointed over the character design for the ova which has strayed noticeably from those lovely design seen in the game [ oh gosh i had seriously wished for that 'moe' feeling to be retained in the design for the ova ]. well it is still good by the usual standard, but if compared to the original game it was based from then i must say that it's a much more different story there. frankly said, i've seen numerous other eronime with far more better chara design [ especially those which sticks close to their original medium counterpart ] than that of the ova's which has left me in mild despair, as i 've sincerely longed to see my ayumi in the best animated form ever. there's also the poor story / plot execution as well as weak direction / camera issues which bugs me throughout the three episode course. the camera were somewhat uninspiring, and at times it felt like i was watching a extremely low budgeted anime though ringetsu has yet to reach the bottomest pit in regard to boring cameraworks.
there's a mild hint of story sandwiched between the three episodes, and i've since been pondering over certain trivial plotholes which has been left gaping open, most apparently the backstory / introductory of the hiduki sisters, and the curse which was the main concern of the story. now with that said, i'd better be off playing the game instead. oh, but wait~!- i've read that there's an animated adaptation of the game's alternate retelling [ shin-ringetsu ]; i might as well check on that one and see if it's gonna be any better :3
